How does touchless faucet work?
There are mainly 3 parts:
- IR sensor. It scans the environment all the time. When there is no obstacles, it send one signal to solenoid valve to keep the valve off. When it detects obstacles, it send out a different signal to solenoid valve to turn on. Generally, it works like a brain.
- Solenoid valve. It is the execution department. When signals received, it performs as it is required. A good solenoid valve should avoid water leaking when it is proper installed and have a long life span. 150,000 times on & off is the basic requirement.
- Power supply. Just like human, energy is the basic of all above. The power supply of touchless faucet is usually DC6V. To get DC6V, it is usually 4 AA alkaline batteries or transformer to transfer AC110V/220V power into DC6V. A good touchless faucet usually allows both power supply to switch automatically.
